Kari Lake Busted For Using Russia Troops In ‘Secure Our Border’ Ad

The footage comes as the site’s narrator promises that former local news anchor Lake will “deploy the National Guard to secure our border,” the Heartland Signal reported Thursday. The original images are still available for purchase on the stock image website Shutterstock.

“If Kari Lake can’t identify a uniformed member of the Arizona National Guard from a Russian soldier, she has nothing to do with our brave men and women as governor,” Lake’s Democratic challenger Katie Hobbs told the media.

It’s not the first time Republicans have been busted for using stock footage from Russia in their campaign ads.

Last month, the big reveal of the House GOP’s “Commitment to America” promotional video was found to contain images of both Russia and Ukraine.
