Vijayadashami 2022: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat’s Dussehra speech touches upon women empowerment and India’s growing economy

Vijayadashami 2022: From women empowerment to India’s growing economy, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat touched on many issues during his ongoing Vijayadashami 2022 celebrations speech at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur, news agency ANI reported.

Santosh Yadav, the first woman to climb Mount Everest, is the chief guest. For the first time in the history of RSS, a woman has been invited as the chief guest for the Vijayadashami celebrations. Besides, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis were also present.

“We have to empower our women and society cannot progress without women,” Bhagwat said in his speech. It echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s thoughts on women, who during his independence speech had promoted women’s empowerment, safety and security.

Talking about India’s stance on global issues, Bhagwat also said, “Our prestige and credibility increased in the world. The way we helped Sri Lanka and our stand during the Ukraine-Russia conflict show that they listen to us.”

India’s economy is returning to normalcy post-Covid and global economists predict it will grow further, the RSS chief also noted. He added, “Our players in various sports and fields make the country proud.”

On Sanatan Dharma, Bhagwat said, “The obstacle that hinders our Sanatana Dharma is created by forces that are against the unity and progress of Bharat. They spread false narratives, encourage anarchy, engage in criminal acts and encourage terror, conflict and social unrest”.

Stating that English is important for a career as a myth, the RSS chief noted, “The new education policy should lead to students becoming well-educated and good human beings who are also inspired by the patriotism; this is everyone’s desire. Society must actively support it.”

“The population requires resources. If it grows without building resources, it becomes a burden. There is another view in which the population is considered an asset. We need to work on a population policy for all keeping both aspects in mind,” Bhagwat also said in his speech.

The head of the RSS also stated that the imbalance of the population causes changes in the geographical boundaries; Population control and population balance based on religion is an important issue that can no longer be ignored, so a holistic population policy should be introduced and should be equally applicable to all
