The interview came after the committee tried to reach Thomas, who told the Washington Beacon in March that the Supreme Court’s longest-serving member “doesn’t discuss his work with me and I don’t involve him in my job.”
Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) said the interview with Thomas was a “work in progress and “at this point, we’re glad he came” to speak to the committee.
Trump told attendees at the Michigan rally on Saturday that Thomas, whom he called a “great woman” and the wife of a “great man,” had the “courage and strength” to back up his false claim of electoral fraud
“She didn’t wait and sit down and say, ‘Well, let me give you a different answer than what I’ve been saying for the last two years,'” Trump said.
“No, no, he didn’t buckle under the pressure like so many others who are weak and stupid people…” Trump said.
