Bitcoin’s weekend continues to be fairly quiet as the asset has hovered around $19,000.
Most altcoins are also pretty quiet today with minor daily losses. LUNC, on the other hand, continues to rise after another double-digit price increase.
Bitcoin Boring at $19,000
The major cryptocurrency had a quiet week, unlike the previous one. Last weekend saw the asset swing around $19,000, which didn’t really change until Tuesday.
At that moment, the bulls increased and pushed him north. Consequently, BTC rose to a 12-day high of $20,400. However, this was short-lived as bitcoin headed straight south and dropped back below $19,000.
He bounced back, regained that familiar level almost immediately, and has stayed there ever since. The only exception came on Friday when it rose to $20,000, but was rejected once again.
Saturday was pretty dull once again, and the picture is now similar, with BTC sitting just inches above $19,000. Its market cap is still $370 billion, while its dominance over altcoins remains at 39.5%.
LUNC steals the show, again
Most altcoins are also quite stagnant on a 24-hour scale, with negligible losses. Ethereum is down a little over 1% on the day, but is still holding above $1,300. It’s worth noting that ETH has been among the poorest since the merger took place just over two weeks ago.
Binance Coin, Cardano, Solana, Dogecoin, Polkadot, Shiba Inu and Avalanche are also slightly in the red. Ripple, MATIC and TRON have seen smaller daily gains.
LUNC is the top midcap performer. Perhaps fueled by Do Kwon’s recent claims, Terra Classic is up 20% in a day and over 50% weekly.
However, with most other alternatives sitting quietly today, the global crypto market capitalization remains at $935 billion.
