The UK’s most prestigious motorsport circuit which became the permanent home of the Grand Prix in 1987 and has remained a fixture of the F1 calendar ever since will soon be surrounded by a small army of Bitcoin enthusiasts.
More than 125 Bitcoin fanatics flock to Silverstone Circuit on October 16 to enjoy a never-before-seen spectacle at the 72-year-old track, as three Bitcoin-livered cars sprint around the historic circuit in their final races of the season In addition to enjoying this high-octane Bitcoin-themed thrill, guests will enjoy the opportunity to sample Salvadoran Pupuses, race a Bitcoin livery car in an advanced racing simulator, and hear conference-style speeches from prominent UK Bitcoiners.
The Bitcoin Racing team has made it mandatory for all guests to wear Bitcoin merchandise so that on the big day Bitcoin will have a huge presence on the track. The team has given this strategy the hashtag #turnsilverstoneorange and they hope that this huge show of support for the team and the digital currency will encourage both Silverstone officials and fans to start learning more about Bitcoin. Bitcoin race is a small family racing team that has been driving at circuits such as Brands Hatch Circuit and Oulton Park across the UK to promote Bitcoin, using their own funds. Not only do they expose thousands of spectators to the bitcoin logo on race days, but they also make sure thousands of motorists see the logo on their big truck as they drive through UK roads. You can watch Bitcoin Racing’s most recent race here where one of their drivers, Liam Browning, took a second podium for the team after making the most of a safety car lap! The team currently runs in the City Car Cup, which is an entry-level championship, but they have some great young drivers with dreams of making it all the way, and the family-owned team is now working hard to connect with bitcoin companies, people and fans to make this happen.
Charlie from Bitcoin Racing said, “Throughout our campaign so far, we’ve traveled about 3,500 miles across the country in our Bitcoin Racing Semi Truck… I think those initial impressions of people seeing us as we drive by are very important as they will start. get people thinking about Bitcoin. We’ve estimated that over 70,000 people will see our cars on UK roads alone based on some back-of-the-envelope calculations!”
On an even more exciting note, Bitcoin Racing has permission from the government to display the national flag of El Salvador on the roof of their cars, meaning that all spectators who come to watch their final races at Silverstone will enjoy seeing the flag of ‘The Savior waves at his side. as the team promotes the country and its legal tender. In fact, the team has been invited to El Salvador in September on an official visit where they will discuss with the nation as Bitcoin Racing, Salvadoran driver Sebastian Melrose and the country can collaborate to use motor sports as a medium to advertise the country and its currency. Melrose has his eyes set on the Porsche Carrera Cup and believes this prestigious championship will serve as a fantastic way to promote his nation.
On the day of the event, there will be some high-profile guests at Silverstone, who all attendees will have the opportunity to meet. Although it has not been announced at this time, you can be sure that some very well-known people in the Bitcoin space will be in attendance. In addition to these highlights, Bitcoin Racing has hired a full racing simulator where guests will have the opportunity to race a bitcoin livery car in an attempt to beat the lap times of their official drivers. In the future, Bitcoin Racing wants to enter a fleet of Bitcoin cars into the UK’s most prestigious and high profile motorsport package known as the TOCA package. Within this package, the British touring cars, the Porsche Carrera Cup, the JCW MINI challenge and the Ginnetas fight for the podium. Importantly, these championships enjoy over 70 hours of live television with millions of viewers, hundreds of thousands of viewers throughout the season and a global reach of millions of followers on social media.
