White House adviser Keisha Lance Bottom continued the Biden administration’s pattern of attacking “MAGA Republicans” and claimed former President Donald Trump’s supporters are a threat to the country.
In an interview with MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart on “The Sunday Show,” Bottoms said Democrats, Republicans and independents should be concerned about this threat.
“There’s a MAGA Republican agenda that doesn’t take into account the rule of law, that doesn’t respect a woman’s right to choose, that wants to defund the FBI,” he said. “There is a MAGA Republican agenda that thought it was okay to attack our nation’s Capitol on January 6th.”
For weeks, highlighted by President Biden’s polarizing speech in Philadelphia, he and his administration have danced the line of claiming they were only referring to a segment of the Republican Party while painting the GOP as a whole with broad strokes claiming that they were occupied by MAGA republicans.

“Not all Republicans, not even most Republicans, are MAGA Republicans. Not all Republicans embrace their extreme ideology,” Biden said in his speech in Philadelphia. Two sentences later, he said, “But there’s no doubt that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven, and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans, and that’s a threat to this country.”
Capehart noted that the Biden administration has taken “a hard line … against Republicans at large” and asked Bottoms if they would “keep nailing that phrase” in the run-up to the November election.

“Well, I think it’s going to be important for all of us who care about the United States of America to call out what we see,” said Bottoms, the former Atlanta mayor. “And what we see, again, with this MAGA Republican agenda is an effort to disrupt our democracy. So whether it’s up to November and beyond November, I think it’s always going to be important to call out any efforts that are out there to destroy , essentially to destroy. the United States of America.”
Bottoms went on to say that “President Biden has been very clear” about wanting to “work on a bipartisan effort,” but blamed Trump’s supporters for standing in the way, claiming they have an “agenda that doesn’t respect the Constitution” or “for free and fair elections”.

Without specifying exactly what that agenda is, Bottoms stated that “it’s important that everyone, not just the president, not just me, that we all call it for what it is.”
“It’s a danger to our democracy,” he said. “It’s a danger to our way of life.”
