US Christians could become a minority group by 2070 if recent trends continue, according to data published by the Pew Research Center.
To predict how America’s religious landscape will change over the next 50 years, the center asked several questions: “And if Christians continue to abandon religion at the same rate observed in recent years? What if the pace of religious change continues to accelerate? What if change stops, but other demographic trends, such as migration, births, and deaths, continue at their current rate?
The center modeled four hypothetical scenarios, based on trends including no change, constant change, increasing disaffiliation with limits, and increasing disaffiliation without limits.
