An executive from a popular plant-based meat company has been arrested for allegedly biting another man’s nose.
Doug Ramsey, 53, chief operating officer of Beyond Meat, was arrested Saturday in Fayetteville, Arkansas, after a man said Ramsey bit him on the nose in a parking lot after a college football game, according to the local news station KNWA.
A responding police officer said he found “two men with bloody faces” at the scene, one of whom was later identified as Ramsey.
According to KNWA, citing a police report, Ramsey was trying to pull out of the garage in a Bronco when a Subaru drove in front of his vehicle.
After the Subaru touched the front passenger side tire of the Bronco, Ramsey exited the vehicle and “hit the rear windshield of the Subaru,” KNWA reported.
The owner of the Subaru told police that when he got out of the car, Ramsey “approached him and started beating on his body.” Ramsey is also accused of biting the other man’s nose, “tearing the flesh off the tip of his nose” and threatening to kill him, according to the man and witnesses who spoke to police.
Ramsey was booked into the Washington County Jail, where he was charged with terroristic threats and third-degree assault. Jail records show he was released the next day after posting $11,085 bail.
He must enter Fayetteville District Court on Oct. 19.
Beyond Meat hired Ramsey in December. The company did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.
